Macrofilm is an LA-based production company with a focus in historical storytelling and archival materials.
Archival is an integral part of storytelling. It is invaluable in the pursuit of telling historical stories and sculpting the narrative of the project’s voice and vision. At Macrofilm, we operate as producers who are part of the creative team, working directly with show-runners, directors, post supervisors, line producers, editors and Network executives in bringing shared visions to life. Before the edit begins, we would love to work with you to envision the program, and create an individualized process that fits the project. This will allow us to seamlessly integrate the research and clearance process into the timeline, while ensuring that the production stays on schedule and on budget. When the edit is near complete, we can also handle all post-production aspects of archival-heavy documentary producing including rights & clearances, legal referrals and consulting for E&O insurance, preparing fair use reviews, and packaging network deliverables. What we also bring to the project is our experience as fellow storytellers who have worked on programming for television and streaming networks including ABC, Apple TV+, CNN, National Geographic, NBC, Netflix, PBS, VICE and more. Whether it be for a television documentary series, documentary film, fiction film, music video, commercial project or exhibition, together we are always here for you to find solutions that are both creative and cost-effective. Through our extensive experience we were able to gain valuable knowledge on historic subject matters and connected with key archival contacts in the industry. But above all, we developed a common cinematic sensibility that drives us to link story and image in the most compelling ways. |
